Lifter question

Got my new lifters yesterday and I soaked them in oil for more than an hour before installing them. My question to you is. How do you prime your lifters after you've installed them? The reason why I'm asking is because I will not be able to start the car until wednesday because summit did not send out my exh. push rods when I ordered them, now I have to wait until wed..

I noticed two of the intake lifters are already soft. Meaning I can push them down by hand after letting them sit for 24hrs after soaking. Are the lifters bad or are the lifters bleeding done?

I think nowadays, you're supposed to soak them for about 15 minutes with synthetic oil prior to installation.

I did soak them for over an hour in sythetic 10w-30! But It's no big deal I think they'll be fine. I'm just over reacting for the most part. Waiting for something else to go wrong I guess.

I really would hate to have to take the intake off again to replace"two brand new lifters"!!!!!!!

Letting them soak does not pump them up. Only reason to soak them is for lubrication purposes on start up. The oil will not fill the cavity inside the lifters until you have oil pressure with the car running. You will notice upon initial start up, the lifters will be very noisy and they will quiet down after the air bleeds out of them.;)

Thanks sweet[edit]. I'm so glad I have nothing to worry about.
