Need some help. I just replaced my master cylinder. The lines were on so tight to the master cylinder that I just disconnected them from the ABS unit.
I went about bleeding the brakes...rr,lr,rf,lf. I thought I had all the air out but not.
I realized after I had the E brake on. Will that affect anything? Does the motor have to be on or on intermittently?
Something went wrong.
Am I a candidate for this "bleeding the ABS module?"
I think Im gonna buy today from sears the manual brake bleeder kit.

Yes you need to bleed the abs module. There are two bleeders on the front of it. Did you bench bleed the master before you put it on? If you didn't it may take a long time to get all the air out. You don't need to start the car while bleeding the brakes. Bleed the abs module then the wheels then the abs module again. You are also supposed to start the car let it run 10 seconds before you start bleeding. Make sure the abs light goes off when the car is running. If I remember right you do that twice before bleeding and don't press the brake while the car is running. It is supposed to move the abs pistons to the home position.

 

No, I knew that I was suppose to bench bleed it but was not able to since I had trouble with the line nuts.
A lot of air...that sucks.
If I invest in which I think I am going to into a manual brake bleeder, will that be enough? Does the ABS still have to be bled?

 

In my opinion after changing the master cylinder you have to bleed the abs block. Why would you not want to bleed it. The bleeders are easier to get to than the ones at the wheels.

 

Buy a vacuum pump, and using a short piece of vacuum line, draw a suction on each bleeder nipple, makes it go 1000% faster, easier.
