what shop can I buy a cam the same day

Since ramchargers is gone where can I go and get a cam the same day. I know there are shops around in the greater detroit area, just don't know any and don't know who would stock cams on the shelf for the LS1 as well as the other parts that go along with the install. Any suggestions?

Do you already know the cam you want? Summit stocks Comp cams and could have one here in 1 day. You might try calling Livernois or Victory racing.

Though you probably have a reason, this is a decision I would not rush.

Good luck!

Give me a call and we talk over a few grinds and I can have a cam in 3 days from Comp in Tennessee.

What many people do is purchase the parts during the week and I get everything together so, come the weekend you are ready to work on the car.

Re: what shop can I buy a cam the same day

Well I'm moving to LA to go to school- I have to leave by about the 9 of June I've been pissing around on which cam to get for over a year, and now at the last minute have decided to get one if I can in a timely manor. This warm weather has made me itchin for some tinkerin on the car. I could'nt decide on emissions freindly for Cali or hog wild who cares. I don't plan to register the car there-I've got some freinds who have been living there for 10 years without having the cars registered there. A 224/224 cam sounds ok, but kinda mild for my tastes, unless it has a 110 LSA. I was thinking something in the 228-232 range would be nice for a daily driver. I might even go with something like the hotcam so I don't have to worry about changing valve springs-I'll be out there 3 years and won't have any time to do that. I'll call you Nick and see what you've got and see how long it'll take

I have a few cams in my trick bag that range from 228/230 and in that area. Most actually make killer power and have a broad torque band with wider LSA cams.

I'll look to hear from you.
