"Guaranteed to Pass Emissions" + Seafoam?

http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c..._1889_32268379

I've seen it on the shelves, and thought it was a joke, but my smog guy that said I failed (frst try, and just barely) recommended it. Too bad I have to wait for it to go through a whole tank. I failed the hydrocarbons part in a 25mph test. He thought it might have something to do with O2 sensors, but they were recently checked and are running perfect. He said sometimes you just get carbon deposits in there and G2P cleans them out. According to him, I am smog legal and should have passed, but I have some bull**** numbers to meet.

My question is, do you think I should seafoam it as well?

Same stuff we sell at the auto parts store I use to work at. Never sold one bottle though since Louisiana is so laid back on emissions. IMO I would not mix the two, I doubt it would cause any harm but still I would not do it. Instead of running the seafoam through the fuel tank I would just run it through the brake booster line. Run it through the line until the car almost dies and then shut it off or just simply pour enough seafoam through the line so fast you choke and kill the engine. Wait a few minutes and then start the car, now drive aorund for bit and blow some carbon out.

Yea, I should have been more clear, I didn't plan on putting seafoam in the gas tank because the G2P is in there already. So I'll go ahead and put it in the intake via the brake line. Thanks.

I know it may sound dumb... but make sure your engine is at FULL operating temps before you run the test again.

I drove to the shop... and shut the car off for only 30 minutes or so while I waited... ran the test and just barely failed. I couldn't believe it, because just two years prior, I passed WELL under the limit.

So... I poured some methyl-hydrate into my gas tank (burns cleaner) took the car on a nice long drive, went to the emissions shop again, and made sure my cats were HOT. Ran the test and wasn't even CLOSE to failing (and no way the methylhydrate did that).

So yeah... just make sure your cats are hot

Yea, the car was warm enough. I must just have some carbons....I hope.
