I have to ask about this mock up

This was posted on GMI a possible 5th Gen Camaro Design in August 05. If you click on the link it says that it was a Lincoln concept a student did, however if you look at the mock up there are no Lincoln ques what so ever. The hood doesnt have the center hood bulge the Lincoln drawing shows. Also the front of the mockup is flat Camaro like where as the drawing is curved to make it look Lincoln. The Mock up is all first gen Camaro with 69 Camaro front Bulging round fenders and 67 Camaro tail lights. It was also suggested that this was slipped into a GM employee Discount commercial. I dont buy it as a Lincoln as the only Lincoln ques are on the drawings, and the orange mockup has no Lincoln ques.

Im thinking it was someones Camaro design at one time that a student changed to look Lincoln

So I have to ask to those that know.

Was this an early design at one point, or was this truely a Lincoln designed by some British kid who thought it would be neat to use heavy 1st Gen Camaro influence for a contenintal?

Since it was a lincoln concept I doubt it has anything to do with the Camaro, there is not a conspiracy.:p

lol If it is a Lincoln concept then which one was it? What was it called? Why doesnt the mock up fit any previous Lincoln profile in style or Luxury roomy cars? Its obviously a pony car yet there is no hint of Mustang or any Ford anywhere on the car. Surely if Ford did a Lincoln concept it would be recognizable as a Lincoln even if its just hints, and that definately is not the case.

I wouldnt call saying this might have been SOMEONES Camaro concept a conspiricy. But how many people can aford to make a mock up? Also a student modified to look like a car they wanted. People do it everywhere with photo shop all the time. I cant imagine a student modifying a car for an assignment would not be out of the question. I dont think there is any question that the heaviest influence in that mock up is 1st gen Camaro. In fact I dont see any influence of any other car.

So if it was a Lincoln concept, then what did ford call it? Or was it one Ford realized was too much like Chevy Camaro that they couldnt use? Question is was this one of GM's Camaro thoughts at one time or does anyone have any proof of what this is.

Im sure Scott, Z284ever, or someone knows. Its bugging me!!! :D

It's not even a concept BY Lincoln. It is some design student's project and he likes Lincoln, so he designed this thing.

It was a student's Lincoln concept with cues from a 64 Continnetal, you know with the suicide doors. The concept is a modern interpretation that draws cues from other cars, probably the Camaro is among them. Just because something looks similar to another car, new/old/whatever, doesn't mean it is related.

Suicide doors are the only contiental que I see. At that they look more like Saturn suicide doors. Regaurdless, I figured this would be the place to ask. If nothing else its modern interpretation of first Gen Camaro is interesting.

Ah well. Its a concept with heavy 1st Gen Camaro with absoloutely no Lincoln ques what so ever. It would be the best looking thing Ford ever produced! ;)
