NEWBIE: Set-up Question

Okay, I just bought a used NX Wet kit for $200 and it came with a full bottle, solenoids, and all the fittings. I have not hooked it up yet and WILL not till I know what I am doing with it because expensive repairs aren't to my liking.

The previous owner had a button hard wired to the battery and then to the solenoids so when he pressed, it sprayed if the bottle was open. Not the smartest set-up I know.

How do I see if it has a blow down tube?? Mind you, the bottle isn't right in front of me at the moment since it is still in a buddy's truck.

What is the function of window switch and what one is best for me? I am not wanting anything much more ridiculous than a 150 shot in the future. I am planning on a 100 shot right now.

Just don't flame me...I am WAAAAY new to the LT1 and even newer to nitrous. I just want to move ahead with no doubts and not make any mistakes.

A window switch allows you to set a turn on/off rpm to activate the n20. Example, you can set it to 3000rpms and 6000 so that it starts spraying at 3000 and will cut off at 6000. (Always set top number BELOW what your rev limiter is. If you hit the rev limiter while spraying you will be buying a new motor)

Also with the window switch you really should have a wide open throttle switch, basically it only allows spray when you have the pedal all the way on the floor.

A blow down tube should be on the main valve coming out of the bottle. It will probably be 12"-18" long and about as big around as your thumb. Search ebay/google for pictures. Some go straight out, others have a 180 degree bend, so if the blow off valve is on top of the bottle it bends back down to go to the floor.

Don't use a button even with the safty switches. If you have all the saftey stuff it will be more accurate than you can, if you only have a button thats just asking for trouble.

If the hypertech adjusted your timing you may want to reset that also.

On the street 100 shot at 3500 rpms is more than enough to shred street tires at 50+ mph. We are not talking about dropping the clutch, just flooring it with spray at those speeds.

Start with something even smaller until you get used to it. I play with @ 100 shot on the street, will be hitting 200 on the track/dyno, but my motor is built for it.
