3-wire o2 sensor part number

Before you say it. I did search and I didn't find what I was looking for. Either it wasn't there or I'm a bad searcher.

I'm thinking about changing to 3-wire o2 sensor, anyone know a good one's P/N.

Try www.jimsperformance.com. I've got a 92 z28 and changed from a 2 wire to a 3 wire. This guy had the harness to go from a 2 wire to a 3 wire for around $20. It was just plug and play. He also has the o2 sensors. You could probably find the o2 sensor on his site and then find one local or cross one with a local parts store. I used his harness and a Bosch 13077 o2 sensor fron Autozone.

You're looking for the AFS74 heated O2 sensor....I just picked up a Borg Warner one, also another good option would be the AC Delco...I'd stay away from the Bosch model as I've heard quite a few complaints about them going bad really quickly and causing major headaches. Also head over to Pep Boys and pickup the Motormite #85393 Weather Pack connector for O2 to make the connections easier....it's like $11.

I just talk to my friend that does the smog checks, and we disagreed on changing to a 3-wire sensor. He said that the heater only put the system into closed loop a few seconds earlier than the 1-wire and that it would cause the sensor to fail earlier because the heater is supposed to shut after 30 seconds.
What are the benefits of the 3-wire?

The O2 sensor has to be above a certain temperature (I forget what) for it to work its best. When you put on headers, you move the O2 sensor away from the heat and it loses some of its abilities. With the heated sensor, you run current thru it, and that keeps it up to temp and working properly.

Actually I believe the AFS74 is the AC Delco part number....
