Is this a good wheel and tire selection?Z28 97 12-26-2005, 12:56 PM http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-Chrome-Corvette-Camaro-Firebird-wheels-rims-ZR-tires_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ66484QQitemZ80250 07995QQtcZphoto Greed4Speed 12-26-2005, 06:06 PM Never heard of those tires. W/a 360 tread wear rating they're more for longer life than performance. Injuneer 12-26-2005, 10:52 PM The wheels are the correct offset for a 4th Gen. The tires are a bit on the narrow side, and about 1/3" smaller in diameter than the stock tires. A 275/35-18 or 285/35-18 would be preferable. Never heard of Nexen..... I wouldn't take a chance, without seeing some test data or user feedback. Try an I'net search on "Nexen" and see if you can find any hits at all. Zack 12-26-2005, 11:37 PM they are, thats why he said the offset is correct Injuneer 12-27-2005, 12:48 AM e-Bay shows the offset on those wheels as 54mm. Wheels: 18 x 9.5 / 54mm offset replica. These wheels are...... You can use a 9.5" wide wheel on a 4th Gen, using any offset between 45mm and 56mm (some people go as low as 35 to 38mm, but they stick out too far for my personal preference). This is all covered in the FAQ stickied at the top of this forum. Hence, the e-Bay wheels are the correct offset for a 4th Gen. Do you realize that 2mm = less than 8/100ths of an inch. What is the problem? :) Getting to the point where I don't even want to respond to these questions any more, because of the nit-picking. | ||
