I'm in the mood to write, need drivetrain topic suggestions

The post on "K" has gotten a lot of reads. There has been little comment, so I hope people have enjoyed it. I am in the mood to write some other general info postings.

Any topic suggestions?

Rich

How about why the 4l60e doesn't last? You can go into the design flaws etc.

Explanation of how a posi works, seen that asked a few times. Along with explanations of the whole rear end and how they work.

Why/how automatics put out less power than manuals, and how automatics work in general.

Explanation of some common problems and fixes from lowering the car, getting a new axle, new gears, stuff like that.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I am leaning towards converter design and operation. I am no 4L60 expert, but I might seek out some other advice and go for that one.

More to follow, any other ideas out there?

How about why certain clutches are better than others.
Touch on materials, mfg build quality etc..etc..

The relationship between gear ratio, gear size/diameter, speed, and power. That would be a good one for people to get their feet wet.

How about a lesson on Lock up torque converters and how they "lock up"
and why one is needed for an overdrive transmission but not needed for a 3 speed transmission, even with a high stall.
