bunch of Long Late night victories

Well last night my LS1 got some pretty enjoyable wins... I will caution all those who want to bash me for not driving safely: do not proceed with this.

Well I was just going a comfortable cruising speed of 80 mph through out Los Angeles on the 210. Well this M3 starts following me pretty close some times edging up on my car in a different lane, he decides to just stay around my blind spot for maybe 10 seconds when this explorer cuts me off... so I jam on the throttle and pass him, well the M3(probably 03-04)realized that he wanted to get a taste of LS1. as I merge onto the 210 after it splits from the 134 going north, we start going at it, this funky corrolla thinks he had something, he was leading the pack (at about 110) until I got onto the throttle slowly but surly pulling away from the M3 and blazing past the corrolla i probably reached 125 before i let my cruise control go back to 80 and be responsible... then the M3 wasnt satisfied, so we went at it again and probably reached 130 this time before i let off and figured he'd had enough of my tail lights... well as i get settled again at 80 mph, the M3 is just chilling for a nice cruise and continues to follow me the corrolla finnaly catches back up and wasnt quite satisfied, so I made sure it sank into 2nd gear (A4) so I could really make him shutter, sure enough after i got to about 95, he was hanging back and didnt want any trouble... now i'm going at 80 for probably another 15 miles before this 5 series starts to tailgate me... the M3 is still hanging around for the ride, and all 3 of us get on it (i'm on the 118 by now) and this time I was behind the pack... so the 5 series was the slowest, but because this time I'm behind the M3 I had to wait for an opening... i was going about 130 before I had one, and I took it, and past him with ease, that opening was right behind a Mustang GT (98-04), so the 2 BMW's and my Bird when flying by the Mustang at 125-130 the 5 series was keeping up but he was pretty far back... but after the M3 could see my tail lights I got off the gas one more time... Right as I settle back to 90 mph, the Mustang blows by me, kind of already had enough of beating people up... I try to play catch up, and sure enough I do, it took a while, and I tell you, I do not know how fast I was going... I'm pretty sure he topped out, and thats the only reason I was able to pass him again... I stopped paying attention to my speed at about 140... and it was probably a good 5 seconds after that is when I really started to real him in, no brake lights tho... but at this point, I was going far to fast for me to slow down and I'm coming up on this Mustang like a raped ape. Already slowly easing into the brakes I start to steer around a Toyota Truck at over 140 mph, I raced a fair race with the mustang and it was pretty close race, i was slowly realing him it at about 120... but enough was enough, But I was done, and I was still trying to limp to my destination with minimal fuel... so i guess driving faster doesnt save gas... but a little later I Enjoyed the side of the road Toyota Camry in flames... and I was done for the night... fueled up and got my 90 mile drive done in under 1 hour with a fuel up

Sounds like you had a good night. You're lucky to not have any cops around. Where i live they are everywhere and it sucks. A lot.

it was 1 in the morning... so i figured i was on the okay, at least a little bit...

you know that was 2 M3's i've beat back to back... I just beat that one the other night, and the last time i went on that same trip i beat a brand new M3, still had dealer plates... I thought M3's were supposed to be midly fast..

whats the fun in that... that takes a second expecially after I'm at 80...

seriously that thing gets up and goes from 75 to 120 in no time flat... but ONLY if I get it to go into 2nd till 95... if I'm at 80 it'll just try at it in 3rd... and it takes forever... 2.73's suck ***...

how can you improve braking at high speeds... man i seriously thought i was gonna crash... that mustang i'm pretty sure topped out, so i was coming at him like a rapped ape, and by the time i realized i was gaining on him, and gaining fast, i couldnt do anything about my speed... i was... going too fast...

I love the 210 late night! I get ***** to the wall runs on it. Me and a co-worker('03 cobra vert) passing the 118 with the needles pinned. I decided to stop that, too risky but damn that is fun. FYI shift changes are at 6am, 2pm,10pm for chp.
