I am interested in purchasing a 35mm front Sway Bar for my 95 Z28 LT1.,
and have seen few mentions on the message board.
The only aftermarket site I seen which lists a 35mm front sway bar
is RKSport., and they do not indicate whether it is hollow or Solid.
For those of you who have a solid 35mm front sway bar please advise
as to supplier, or even those of you who do not have one, but know where
to get one......Thanks
95 Z28 LT1 Red/black Ttop--too much to list.

You want a Suspension Techniques bar. You can get it at Jegs.com, a sponsor of this site.

I think Sam Strano is the only one who sells a 35mm Hollow.

Thanks Bud M for the recom. Jeg's Sway Bar (front) = 1 3/8"= 35mm, and if solid
it is a great deal.,about $ 70.00 less then RKsport, and that one may be hollow.
Thanks again......Theo

A tube of same diameter is stronger than solid bar stock. The hollows are better.

Agreed, the hollow bars are better, because of the weight difference. But they are more expensive too. As for a tube being stronger, its not like anyone is going to break a solid 35 mm swaybar.

RK Sport bars *ARE* ST bars... Both are solid. A solid 35mm weighs in around 28 pounds for the bar alone.
Solid v. Hollow. Hollow isn't "weaker" or more prone to breaking. Hollow bars of like size are generally so slightly less stiff you can't tell, but I use a thicker wall tubing in the front bar and less sharp bends to keep the stiffness up anyway.
Partially edited due to not being a supporting vendor. I'm sure you probably meant nothing by the comment but we've got to do whats best for our supporting vendor's. If they are both the same diameter and made out of the same material, the solid bar will be stronger than the hollow bar. However, by removing the center portion of that solid bar, which contributes very little to the strength in torsion, you see very little strength reduction in the tube, but a very large weight reduction. This was pointed out very well by the post immediately above.
If a tube and a solid rod had the same weight, the tube would be stronger in torsion, but it would also be larger in diameter than the solid rod.

Yeah - I know what you mean, I was comparing DOM to solid bar stock, apples and oranges thing.
