knock retard

hey everyone. I am getting a lot of knock retard in my bird. Its a 95, ODBI, stroked, headers, all the good stuff. Lately, she has been running like crap. Vibrating all over the place and such. So, I used freescan to download a file to see how it is performing. Well, around 2000 rpm lots of vibrations, and I found 5,6,7 as the number for knock retard. I asume this is bad, so how does it get corrected? The spark plugs and wires are 3 months old, I used AC delco platniums, and I also indexed them. (meaning I bought the washers and put every open end of the electrode pointing to the intake valve) Yes I am extremely anal. haha. I also moved the passenger side spark plug wires to go behind the AC, Powersteering bracket, and then routed them along the bottom of the motor, and just bring them up right at the spark plug. Now, could the wires be causing the problem, running right next to the knock sensor? I know its a long shot, but something has to be wrong! Thanks in advance!

You are running 93 octane right?

How did you determine from Freescan that you had " lots of vibrations", or are you saying that's how the engine ran when you recorded the data?

It is very possible that running the plug wires next to, and in parallel with the knock sensor wire could cause extraneous signals to be induced in the knock sensor circuit, making the PCM think it needs to retard timing.

it vibrates really bad, and that is why I hooked up the labtop. I have been using 91 octane fuel from Cenex, as they have non-owygenated gasoline for use in collector cars, or snowmobiles and dirtbikes and the like. I have used it all summer, so I don't see how it would have a problem now, unless it is a ****ty batch of gas.
