Can someone explain MAF before or after blower?

I guess my research isn't netting much of a direct answer for me. What are the pros n cons of putting the MAF before or after the blower?

I've searched - seems kinda mixed. I'm set to install the MAF at the filter per Vortechs instructions - should I reconsider? I need this car to be pretty easy to tune for Bryan @ PCMForLess so if putting it on the discharge side is going to screw up Bryan then I would rather not do it.

Is there any performance benefit putting it on the discharge side?

The advantage of the MAF after the blower is that you can vent "unused boost" (TB blades closed after you let off the gas) to atmosphere instead of recirculating the boost (hot air) back to the intake side of the blower. This doesn't buy you much at the drag strip as your TB is open almost the entire time.

The MAF after the blower will keep the charge air cooler, some complains that it's noisy (not the MAF ;) the ait that blows out of the bypass valve).
I'm too lazy to redo the piping or I'd try it (in stop and go traffic the IAT goes up to 140F easily)

Blow through or Draw through really boils down to personal preference. People have had great success running either setup. Blow through tends to have better throttle response (generally), but a draw through meter is easier to calibrate for, because you don't have to worry about what the piping infront of the element looks like. I could go on and on about the advantages of each, but if the instructions call for a draw through setup, do that.

How much Hp you running? My choice would to be run SD, but you cant really get a mail order tune for that.

I would guess my rwhp at around 330 based on my track times/mph/weight. I'm not sure what the supercharger is going to add - i've heard up to 130 to the wheels so i'd guess from 80-130rwhp is on the way with the kit installed.

Gonna plumb it per the instructions and i'll continue to research the rest.

The main reason I relocated my MAF was because its less of a restriction on the compressed side. Ive never had any problems with tuning. Used the same tune running it both ways. :shrug:

Interesting: I was thinking that the MAF would have some problems working with hot air. Good that it works the same :)

The MAF doesn't care what temperature the air is, only how much is passing over it, and that it does so in the same way for which it was calibrated.
