Ok, I have searched and can not find the answer. Maybe I overlooked it but here goes.

I have a '93 Z28 A4. After it sits for a while (overnight), I can get in and start it up. I let it go thru all of it's tests and then I put it in gear. Everythig is fine. The problem is after I give it gas and it rolls approx. 3 to 5 feet. The "Low Trac" light comes on and goes right back off. If you are not looking you will miss it. There is also a slight "surge". It does not do it yet if I let it roll out of gear. Only when in gear at this time. I have found other posts but all of them are refering to stopping problems. Any help??????

I suspect a dirty ABS sensor.

That is what I was thinking, however I can not get to the sensor, just the connector. The whole hub assembly would have to be replaced if the sensor goes bad as these are non-rebuildable.

On my car the rear sensor was dirty. The sensor can be removed from the top of the differential.

I think if you have ABS and ASR then you may have two wheel speed sensors on each side, both can be removed from the rear wheel "holders?"... there will be a bunch of metal shavings which can be wiped off.

I've had the exact same problem on my 93. Replaced the rear-end and front brakes (which means all 3 of the speed sensors) and the problem was still there. I just recently swapped a T56 in and it doesn't do it anymore. Maybe a coincidence or it may have been tranny related on mine somehow.

Yeah, I put in a different rearend and new front brakes also. Problem still there. Can anyone tell me how to remove the front and rear sensors for cleaning? It does not have ASR, just plain old ABS.

Hey Mad do you mean front wheel hub assemblys? The wheel hubs contain the front sensors, I don't think the brakes do any of that...

On my car the scanner read that the front left wheel speed sensor signal was either two high or low (can't remember which). I had to use a Snap On scanner to do that, the freescan stuff doesnt retrieve the ABS codes :) Its still doing it, I haven't replaced my front wheel hub assemblys though.
