It is functional. There's an intercooler mounted on top of the engine and the scoop feeds fresh air through it.

That sucks. I really like the current sTi body. The front end isn't that bad but that centered grille makes the car just look...awkward. I'm pretty dissapointed.

But, what can honestly compete with it? The upgrades to the powertrain, suspension, etc will make you forget the new Subaru look.
Besides, anything is welcomed that will make the SAABaru look better.
