Damage from driving with spare on rear?

Have any of you ever damaged your rear end from driving with the spare tire on the back? I had a tire blow out from a big piece of metal in the road yesterday and drove about 15 miles with my spare on the rear (at slow speeds) to a repair place. As I was driving there were some new noises coming from behind me. It sounded really bad when I had to back up out of a parking space.
The good news is that the tire is being replaced under road hazard waranty. The bad news is that they had to order the tire so I'm driving my truck for a few days.
Any idea if I could have done any damage, or if the noises were just due to the difference in sizes of the spare and regular tires on the back end?
Thanks,
Steve

Limited slip differentials don't like different diameter tires on the back as it wears the internal clutches. Slow speed for 15 miles isn't that much abuse. In the future you might want to move the spare to the front and put the front tire on the back.

Thanks for the response... In the future, I'll move a good tire to the back and put the spare on the front.

Thanks again,
Steve
