..moved from fla to fargo ND last week and found the local spot sat night. met some of the guys with the faster cars in town. about 5 minutes after i pulled up they said they were about to go race and asked if i was ready. hell yeah
....so i follow them outta town to some lit backroad with no residential in sight. 99gsx runs a STI first, then they ask the cobra if he is ready. yup, so they ask which camaro is gonna run him? other lt1 is catback only, so i took the offer. its a 97 manual cobra, stock. we line em up, i do a 5 sec burnout, heat the tires. and we go. i dont spin to bad but spun all through first till i hit 2nd. slowly pulled him through first, then once i hit 2nd i pulled him easily. at 100 i had atleast 3 cars on him. at 60 i had a car and moved into his lane! nice guy i am, only did it cuz he was cocky.
...since i have never ran an STI b4, i knew know was the time. last week i ran the 99 gsx and he pulled me about 2 1/2 cars outta the hole, and he told me that the STI just beat him by a car. so i figured it would be close as long as i could get a perfect hook. line em up, do abouta 10 sec burnout. ease in the gas floor it at about 10 and dead hook. he has me at his rear bumper at 15-20 mph. and i am creeping up steadily till 55, then its a stalemate. at about 75 i start pulling again, at 90 i have my nose out front and i shut down at 105 with me a car out.
...that was the last run of the night for everyone so as i am heading back down the road they are all leaving so i follow. once we get back to a shop. they ask what happend between me and the STI? i say i won, and they all started laughing. the guy in the STI put his hazards on at around like 75, douchebag.

Nice kills. I always get a good laugh when someone puts their flashers on then loses the race, happens a lot at the races in south philly.

 

i left a few parts out since it was such a "short" story. lol
no, there were 3 STI's up there, some Bosnian refugees or wahtecer , idunno. but they are gettin welfare grants and what not. so they all went out and bought these STI's. at first i thought they were friends or were from here and knew the people, but it was there first night out as well. they wanted to do some races.
yeah when i went back to the guys shop and they asked me who won and i told them i did, they already figured that, cuz they could see that once i hooked i was reeling him in. but he ran the guy who's shop i was at, and he ran one of the other STI's and he did the same to him , but around 65 when he was gettin passed!
the guys are tools, dumbass bosnians!
thanks antz, i came at a good time, cuz the weather cleared up like 2 days b4 i got here, whew luckily. glad i didnt get to see any snow this winter.

 

That was a fun night. If that cobra is there next week I want to run him.

i think i will keep the stock cam for a while. i am thinking about doin a turbo soon. so i dont want to jump in just yet till i know exactly what my plans are.
yeah that cobra was a dog, it would be a good run between u and him, but i am sure u will edge him out as long as u hook!

and camaroguy, i have ran other cobras and they fall as fast as this one did. the guy hooked better then i did. i was expecting for him to atleast hang till 50 or so.
me and the guy with cobra are actually good friends now. and we have done a few rolls, only time he hangs is from 40. but once i hit 55-60 its ova.
