This a good price for Kumho 711's?

I was told $94 each which included mounting/ballencing/new valves.

so thats $376 total for 4 245/50/R16's H rated.

I spent over $500 2 years ago on Dunlops and barely got 24k out of them, they,Liked the tire but didnt get mileage out of them! Some would say they still have some tread but I dont like pushing tires, not worth the risk to me.
I guess they have about 1/8 tread left.

I'm probibly only going to have this car tops less then 2 more years, so should I shop around more? is this a good price? Their only summer tires. I have mounted snow tires.

Last I checked the Kumho 711s were $57/each from Tire Rack plus shipping which is $50 total for me for 4 tires. That's $278 before mount/balance...You might save a few $$$$ using Tire Rack...Also check out the new vendor, Discount Tire...I think the guys name is Chris...He just started posting here...

check in the thread grooves for a raised 'bar'. thats the built in wear indicator. when the tread is level with that, tires are legally bald(3/32nds of tread). use that as a guide to replacing them

Yeah, but you could easily spend $100 for the installation and balancing. That's what my local Discount Tire quoted me to remove tires from one set of rims and installa them to others and balancing.

All in all, after everything is said and done, many times the difference between Tire Rack, or some other online seller, is not too considerable. Unless you find a cheap mom-and-pop store to do your installation.

They are still above those by a hair, but 2 of the tires have developed a slow leak so I was always checking them, Dunlops were good in the rain but I dont feel so confident on them now, I prefer maximum traction when it comes to rain driving in this car.

I was thinking of buying tires online but I have some pretty good connections for the local places and I always support them so what extra it is is worth it for me, besides then they are mounted, old tires are gone and if I have a problem someone can fix it.

Re: This a good price for Kumho 711's?

Was just giving the guy an alternative...I have a friend who owns a shop and mounts/balances for very little $$$$. In my case I would do better on 711s going with Tire Rack. When I can I support local business, but sometimes its just too much more $$$$. Sometimes Tire Rack is better on prices and sometimes they are not. And Zack, thats a great way to do business...charging people "out the ***" just because they didn't buy from you....Way to go and good job....

Re: This a good price for Kumho 711's?

well hell, im just making an example out of the transaction for the next time they need tires, they will get them cheaper from me because we mount/balance and give you the valve stem for free anyways when purchased from us

and its mostly people with aftermarket wheels that buy online anyways, and none of the competition(firestone, just tires, good year in the area) will work on the wheels (reverse mount wheels, expensive wheels, bigger wheels etc) so I can capitalize on it
