KN Air Filter

How much of a difference in performance does this filter really give for the amount of money its worth?

Well I had one and I am runnning a FRAM air filter right now and I will probably get another K&N after the FRAM, but to tell you the truth, between my first K&N and the FRAM I couldn't tell a difference. My track times didn't seem to change at all so if it really is better which it might be, it isn't enough to make any real difference, to be sure someone would have to show you some dyno #'s.

I remember reading that the Holley Power Shot filter is better than the K&N, especially for the f-bodies. How much better its supposed to be? I can't say.....but I'm going with Holley.

Performance gain? I doubt there is any that would show up.

I have the Holley PowerShot filter. It's designed to fit our airbox and it is built a lot better. Plus, it's less expensive.

The K&N is a "generic" square filter that fits a couple of different cars. To make it seal in our airbox, they include a cheap foam weatherstrip that you stick on your lid to help it seal against the filter.

Personally, I'd rather have a better constructed filter that was designed for our cars, and costs less.

I bought mine for the long life and never having to change it out (just wash it from time to time). I paid $34 for mine.

Yeah, Holley's definately better. Thing with filters... even paper ones flow good enough for stock applications. It's kinda like a MAF, doesn't really help you out till your car really starts needing to breath, like 400+ hp. Just food for thought....
