Powder Coating on the west side of Detroit?
Powder Coating on the west side of Detroit?
Looking to get my intake blasted/powder coated. Have heard really good things about Q.C. Coatings, and plan on taking it there, but it is a bit of a hike. Anyone who's good in the Livonia or surrounding area?

this guys not in the livonia area, but he does great work at a great price. he charged me $60 to blast/powdercoat my LT1 intake. it was very clean when I gave it to him though. he lives basically at milford road and M59.

its a bit of a hike the other direction, but well worth it and you dont have to worry about goin out there during normal business hours so if you work days, it'll be that much less of a hassle. I took 96 west to milford road. then milford road north till you hit gm road. turn right about half mile till milford road picks up again and go north all the way past M59. his house is the first house on the right if I remember right, and you cant miss his shop that is on the lot next to his house but farther back. address is 798 milford road highland MI. 48357 if you want to look it up on mapquest. he may or may not remember me, but you can tell him chris with the white cop car sent you.

Re: Powder Coating on the west side of Detroit?
thats all he does. he has a huge shop and a good setup. the only thing not perfect about mine was he hung it front side faceing down. so there was a small drip at the front that stuck out a tiny bit when I first got it from faceing down when he baked it. he mostly does classic motorcycle restorations so he does tons of frames but he's got tons of pic.s on the walls when you first walk into the shop of wheels, intakes, and just tons of other parts. he's not a big company, but that is all he does and he takes great pride in it and he's a great guy. maybe you should ask him about a satisfaction garauntee. mine came out awesome, but I wasnt worried about it cause I knew it would be covered by the fuel rail/inj.s and the stupid cowl. I do have some pics in my yahoo photo's. copy/paste the link in my sig. and look at 383 photos. or you can come see it in person at the motorama (not autorama) feb. 4,5,6 I'll have it there in the show.

I would reccomend the guys at exotic coatings...there not to far from livonia. I think they were about a 20 miute drive in rush hour from my old shop on 8 mile.
Ive had them powdercoat tons of rims, intakes, valve covers and tons of my customers products while we were doing big builds. Everything has always turned out perfect, there pricing has always been great, they have been very fast and have been excellent with feedback and suggestions. They do all the Kandy powdercoating on our Turbos and the result is phenominal. I have tons of examples on my car of there work. These guys can do any special coating you could imagine and can color match just about anything. No eastwood basic kits at there joint...
I believe its Jeff that I usually deal with..great guys to deal with. tell them I sent ya...referrals never hurt ya know
there site is www.exoticcoatings.com i think....search it out and im sure youll find tons of links.
I hear QT does great work but I have never dealt with them personally. Im sure they would do a great job on your intake from their reputation. I will vouch for Exotics work though...
good luck bro
