I am about to get my car painted, and was looking for some insight. Currently the car is black with 17x9.5 and 17x11 black (grandsport) ZR1s and the car also has a 1996-1997 WS.6 hood on it.
I know that I definately DO NOT want to go back with a black paint job. I am also having a LT4 383 solid roller motor built as we speak, so that should help in the paint job as I have to remove the stock motor to place the new motor in. I was planning on removing the motor and having the car towed to the paint shop.

So, how do you think a 1994 Viper Steel Grey (this is the gunmetal color with a blue tint to it) Trans Am with grand sport Zr1s on it with black accents (blackbird rear panel, black Trans Am side door emblems, black Ram Air stickers on the hood and black PONTIAC fill-ins).

Has anybody done this on a LT1 trans Am that you guys know of??? I have seen a LS1 WS.6 in the viper steel grey, but no LT1s.

Hey Matt.. I think there's a local guy that did this to his LT1 TA. But, it's more of a gun metal grey.. He had the rear bumper black like the CE TA's though. Had the grandsport wheels too. Looked good IMO

Yeah, he did his car in a BMW shade of grey. I have seen his car before. The shade I am goign with has a lot more metallic in it and has more of a blue tint to it.
That car does look pretty sweet though.

I'd say if its something similiar to Gun Metal Grey go for it. Gun metal grey is one of the most kickass colors of all time. I'm in a debate whether i want to do Black metal flake with gun metal stripes, or gun metal with black metallic stripes, or black metallic with gun metal stripe outlines.

I don't know if what vipers i have seen are the color your talking about...but i'd say go for it. Black/steel gray would be a nice contrast.

Thats kinda an off blue/grey...i had the wrong color in my mind. I'm not so sure that would look good with black rims on it. If it were more grey colored than blue colored it would be alright, that color is just too bright and blue. Maybe take it down 2-3 shades with a darker grey.

Do it . The LT1's would look just as good as the LS1's, I'm sure .
