Question 17x11 wheels on lowered 99 SS possible?

I trade my factory ZR-1 wheels for a set of 17 x 9.5 and 17 x 11 torque thrust II's and was wondering if i can drop the camaro still with those wheels in the back and not have them rub. Also if it involves rolling the fender lips what is the best way to do it? Thanks again for ya's help

I am glad you are not putting 10+ in the front or you'd be hydroplaning everywhere.

I can tell you that tires for 17x11" rims will cost you the price of a major organ, and IMO, will be major overkill. It will definatally hurt speed more then it will help.

Hope that helps you some.

You've got to be kidding me.........hurt speed, we wouldn't want anyone to just hook up and launch now would we?!?!?!?!

To answer your question, yes you can lower it with 315s in the rear, you will HAVE to have an adjustable panhard rod to center the rear, you might have to beat on the fender wells a little and you might want to roll the fender lips depending on the offset.
But yes you can do it, mine is fine.
As far as rolling the fender lips I havent done it yet, but there are people here that have, if you go ask in the autocross section you can get a answer there for sure.
you can plan on spending between 125-250 or so for each tire depending on what type you get.

And Nov, you were right, tires won't cost that much. Here is a link to alot of different tires that will fit a 315/35/17 17x11 rim:
