How hard is it to install white face gauges?
Re: How hard is it to install white face gauges?
That depends. The hard part is removing the needles and getting them back on in the correct places.
I say it depends because some kits dont require you to remove the needles. If the hole in the center of the dial is large enough for the entire needle to fit, then it is a piece of cake.
If you have to remove the needles it gets a bit more tricky. I'd recommend taking a picture of each needle close up with the ignition on. Use the picture for reference when reinstalling them.
To do my speedometer, I had a friend drive in front of me at 60 mph. I followed him and had a buddy reach over and steer while I put the needle back on at exactly 60. It is right-on!

Aiight, thanks for the info. According to the auction ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT ), I don't need to remove the needles.
One question for you about yours. When you did it, is yours just the paper, or does yours have the lights and inverter like the one I'm looking at? Can you post a big picture of your gauges (even if yours doesn't have the extra lights)? Thanks.

I screwed up really bad. I bought the gauges and the speedo of the gauges is 140mph, the speedo on my car is 110mph. So now I have to buy the gauges that are 110mph (which are more expensive because they are harder to find). *sigh*
Re: How hard is it to install white face gauges?
Will someone please take a pic of their gauges for me? I have a stock idle and a M6. I really screwed mine up. This pic is sitting in the garage on jack stands with the motor off
