Chrysler's Trevor Creed says two doors are dead.
Re: Chrysler's Trevor Creed says two doors are dead.
Keep in mind, that Creed was the guy that said to Charger enthusiasts, something to the effect, "they think their two door Chargers are the real thing".

The whole point of the article is that the two door Stratus and Sebring are dead. Who's going to miss either one of these wimpy, badge-engineered two-door sedan derivatives? DCX is leaving this declining market to the Accord and Solara coupes, a wise decision if you ask me.

well, I partly agree..
Only way I'd get a mid to full sized two door coupe, is if it had good looks and performance, with RWD or AWD. With the exception of convertibles (although they should have a healthy engine to help enjoy that open air!) So thats why 2 doors like sports cars, pony cars, and lux coupes (like the bmw 6 series) is a good thing.
The 2 door Stratus and Sebring are not performance cars. They only look sportier.. but perform like your avg sedan. So IMO, they really don't make sense.. and I won't miss them.
Smaller compact cars, sometimes it makes sense for them to have two doors.. cause literally, 4 doors really wouldn't fit! hence the name compact.

2. With the '05 Mustang on the market, DCX would have a very hard time competing with yet another Mitsubishi based FWD something-or-other. It was time to quit.
I think there's room for decent coupe designs in any market segment. The problem is that cars like the last-generation Prelude, last-generation Cougar, last-generation Celica, last-generation Riviera (do you see the pattern) were misguided products that were deeply flawed in one way or another.

Not disagreeing with what ya said , but after all the BS excuses are laid out , the 2-door market is not dead at all .
