"There is no market for two doors"

I will not buy a four door, at least for my use. That is the only reason I didn't buy an SRT-4.

Keep in mind, that Creed was the guy that said to Charger enthusiasts, something to the effect, "they think their two door Chargers are the real thing".

So does that mean they are going to stop making the crossfire, and defiantly not going to make that V8 "Viper" Concept.

The whole point of the article is that the two door Stratus and Sebring are dead. Who's going to miss either one of these wimpy, badge-engineered two-door sedan derivatives? DCX is leaving this declining market to the Accord and Solara coupes, a wise decision if you ask me.

The Mustang and the Cavalier coupe ( of all things ) , over and over again proves theres a market . How many years in a row now has the stang sold over a 100K cars , and Chevy had no problem selling Cavalier coupes or grand am GT coupes , hmmm or Monte Carlos .

Dead market excusae = copout

Re: Chrysler's Trevor Creed says two doors are dead.

well, I partly agree..

Only way I'd get a mid to full sized two door coupe, is if it had good looks and performance, with RWD or AWD. With the exception of convertibles (although they should have a healthy engine to help enjoy that open air!) So thats why 2 doors like sports cars, pony cars, and lux coupes (like the bmw 6 series) is a good thing.

The 2 door Stratus and Sebring are not performance cars. They only look sportier.. but perform like your avg sedan. So IMO, they really don't make sense.. and I won't miss them.

Smaller compact cars, sometimes it makes sense for them to have two doors.. cause literally, 4 doors really wouldn't fit! hence the name compact.

1. That Cavalier coupe sold because (a) it was almost pretty, (b) the Cavalier sedan was almost ugly and (c) it was a good deal after the rebates, discounts, etc.

2. With the '05 Mustang on the market, DCX would have a very hard time competing with yet another Mitsubishi based FWD something-or-other. It was time to quit.

I think there's room for decent coupe designs in any market segment. The problem is that cars like the last-generation Prelude, last-generation Cougar, last-generation Celica, last-generation Riviera (do you see the pattern) were misguided products that were deeply flawed in one way or another.

I guess a more appropriate statement from that chrysler rep should been like " the coupe market is declining for the one's who dont know how to build what people want or like or just dont care "

Not disagreeing with what ya said , but after all the BS excuses are laid out , the 2-door market is not dead at all .

Trevor Creed can say what he wants. I'm not buying a Chrysler anytime soon.
