Can I run two 6rib belts on 12 rib setup. Belts driving me crazy again.
Im sick of paying 75 bucks a belt from ati. I have found 41 inch 12 rib and 43 but not 42 from aftermarket sources. I can buy 6ribs at 20 bucks a pop. I heard kmook tried this but never found out if worked. Or is there anyway I can shorten or enlarge by one inch without changing pullies?

I use to run 6-rib belts belts without a problem. I prefer to use Gatorback. Also you may want to run an 8-rib belt. Are you encountering slippage? If not there is no need for a 12-rib belt. I made over 14lbs of boost with a single 6-rib belt and no belt slippage. I am also running an SD concepts tensioner.

My friend runs two 6-rib belts on his Mustang. He thinks that running two is a better idea, so if one belt jumps off, then there is another one to keep the blower turning. He has always eaten the 12-rib belts and the two 6-rib belts seem to work.

I've had mixed luck with this. Did it once and it worked fine. When I tried it later with a different pulley set up, they slipped. Even though they were the same PN, one was noticabley longer than the other.
