Everyone is telling me cut outs are a very good, cheap mod so I went ahead and ordered one. Its a flowtech 3 inch with the 3 wingnuts. How is this gonna make my car sound since I already have a flowmaster catback? What kinda installation price will I get from a shop? Thanks

It'll sound good :) You can find some soundclips over on www.ls1sounds.com . Installation price will vary from $25 - $ 60 depending on the shop you take it to.

You will like the sound. I used to have my Flowmaster with a cutout in the I-pipe under the rear passenger side seat. I loved it, it was a lot louder than the Flowmaster itself. You dont want to cap it back up. A typical shop will charge $30-$70 for install.

With it closed the car will sound the same - and much louder uncapped. Some like it, some don't. Think I paid $25 to have mine welded in a couple years ago - mine's open most of the time.

Thanks for the replies. I am getting it installed next week. Cant wait. Can you feel a power increase with it open?

Well, I've read on here that guys have gotten anywhere from ~10 to ~20 rwhp by having open cutouts;) (depending on mods, and their current cat-back systems).

You should feel a gain. Flowmaster isn't exactly the best flowing exhast out these.
