Help me bring my red ws6's paint back to life!!
Help me bring my red ws6's paint back to life!!
So I recently picked up a red 96 ws6. Car was in good mechanical condition, but looked like it had never been waxed before. The front of the car had recently been repainted, but the rear of the car is very cloudy and oxidized. I even have some treesap that I haven't been able to get off.
Anyways, here's my current arsenal, I'm on a real tight budget, so would rather work with what I have if possible and just buy whatever else I'd need.
1. Clay Magic Clay Bar
2. Meguiar's Scratch X
3. Mother's Carnauba Cleaner Wax
4. Meguiar's Step 2 Polish
5. Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wax Paste
Anything else that I would need, I need to be able to purchase at a local auto parts store, because I plan on doing all this today. Also, I have some white cotton towels that have been used, can I just wash and reuse them? Where would be a good place to buy more towels and what kind do I need? Thanks!

Re: Help me bring my red ws6's paint back to life!!
Do this:
Wash
Clay
ScratchX on bad spots
Step 2 polish
NXT Tech wax (I highly recommend this instead of Gold Class - the durability of Gold Class sucks).
IM me sometime and we can discuss it some more - my new SN is SouthFL Z28.

Re: Help me bring my red ws6's paint back to life!!
This is what I do (if I don' need to use scratchX) paint cleaner once or twice, show car shine, then NXT. After that it will look great all summer long.
Just make sure that when you buff it out use microbiber or something.
Gold class and step 2 is NOTHING compared to show car and NXT.
I have a few pics in my sig.

give me your car for 6 hours and I will make it shine
But seriously, Every self respecting detail shop in Washington uses 3M everything.
I stand by it!
A guy I knew had some hard water spots we wanted to get rid of so he went down to get a wet-sand quote...
anyways to make a long story short he tried every wax and polish under the sun and also had some oxidized looks in some parts.
I did 1 coat of 3M hand glaze and all the water spots and clouds went bye bye.
It's expensive stuff but worth it!
