ok super noob here....why are they called fbodys? and how many other body styles are there? i have been looking around and kinf find my awnser

 

GM as well as other manufacturers name their car platforms. The "F" designates all Camaros and Firebirds since inseption.

Even if GM desides to build another version of the Camaro down the road it will NOT be an "F" body because that platform is dead.

 

A '67 GTO is an "A" body. But not the '04 GTO. Get it? Completely diferent design.
