First, my motor seems to work just fine. I had the door apart over the weekend and I found that what appears to be the rear support on the drivers door has broken at the point of the roller. The roller was just sitting in the groove and the window bangs up against it when rolling up/down. Also, the window is now too far rearward of the car and obviously has problems going up/down. I have a picture of the broken part here:
Window Bracket (not dial-up friendly) (http://members.buckeye-express.com/bob.croninger/z28/Window%20Bracket%20(rear).jpg)
I believe all I need is the metal bracket with the number "3" imprinted on it. Please someone tell me I don't have to buy the eleventy billion dollar regulator to get this part? All I need is the part number for this bracket and I should be good(?).
Anyone have any information on this part?

Time to call a salvage yard. Window regulators are sold as complete units. (I just changed on a few weeks ago due to a pothole which chipped a tiny piece of plastic inside)
You might try contacting http://www.camaromotorsports.com/

Hmm... Not what I wanted to hear. If you look at the picture though, you may not be able to tell, but that metal piece with the "3" on it is completely separate from the rest of the regulator. I was hoping I could just buy that metal piece.
Does anyone know if these pieces are the same throughout the 93-02 models (Camaro & Firebird), or is there a difference? I really don't want to buy one out of another 93-97 and have it be in nearly as bad a shape as mine.

I've got a link to a GM Parts Manual ... unfortunately it's stored on our club web server which is down right now. When the server comes back up, I'll post it for you. Maybe you can find the part you need.

Is the roller not on the regulator anymore?
if the roller came off the regulator arm, you need a regulator

Sounds about right, if you cannot weld it back on.

You're talking about the roller that's connected to the bracket at the bottom on the window itself, right? The one that goes into the vertical channel... Not one of the rollers on the regulator? In that case, your best bet is to find a drivers window on ebay or one of the used f-body junkyards that will have that bracket and roller already attached.. I don't know how hard it would be to drill out those rivets without shattering the window... I've been having problems with the roller itself popping off the metal shaft and I have to pop it back on with pliers every once in a while.. So I think I know which roller you're talking about.

Im sorry, but those regulators are rediculous. I work at a GM dealer, and I put one of those things in for the first time today on a 02 formula. Out of any other GM vechicle, the F cars are by far the worst car to install a motor/regulator in. Not sure if its worse than a newer Jetta though

Thanks for the post Lower! I had seen that thread just after I posted this. I'm going to make a post there and let this one die. I think I have all the info I need for part numbers, etc.
rncotton, I have the parts CD, but I didn't know it got that detailed. I will have to open mine up again and take a look. Thanks for pointing that out!
