Hi all...

I just wanted to make sure that I properly understand what I'm seeing in my display...

When I initially started the camaro... The millivolts read around 100-150...once the car came up to temp and the idle went down the millivolts continued to climb and bounce around ... anywhere from 200-900 ... the retard was always at 0.0 ... (From what I understand...this is what I want for Knock Retard)

Is this normal? I assume that the millivolts get more consistent/constant when the car is driven...

Any and all info. would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks,
TDOG

When you first start the car the O2 mV should read around 450. Then as they warm up they will start to read anywhere from 0-999 mV. The way O2 sensors work is this high side of 450 is rich where the low side is lean. That is why 450 should be the reading when the motor is cold.. the O2s cant read anything when they are cold. Now as you go into closed loop(warmed up O2 sensors) there are several fuel corrections being made every second which is why the readings look like a jumbled mess of numbers.

Sounds as if I'm normal...

Have you read my online ScanMaster guide? It answers that question, and quite a few others:
