Right now my car is running kinda bad because of the O2 sensors cand bogs sometimes at really low RPMs. To start the night a raced a guy with a SRT4 whih he took out the wing. I raced twice one from a 25mph roll and another one from a dig. Both times i would leave him beheind up ontil the end of 2nd gear where all of a sudden he passed me and puts about 2 cars ahead of me. and from a dig i put about a car on him preatty hard and then same thing happens he all of a sudden catches up and puts another 2 cars on me. He was really cool, but i still coulnt explain how he all of a sudden came from behaind and pull on me that hard. He said it was completely stock but never saw the hood.

After this happened alot of friend met up and one of them with a lt1 camaro gave me a hard time abtou loosing to a 4 banger. He was just playing around since he nows their preatty darn quick, but i ask him to race me just to see if he could beat the SRT 4. We go twice from a dig and the first time he screws up his launched and beat him bad, Second time he get out preatty good but i still put about half a car on him, and gained a lil bit on every shift the car made, I ended up almost a car ahead of him after we shut dowm.

it was fun but i still couldnt explain how i beat the m6 camaro with exhaust, but got womped by a completely stock srt4(according to the guy). So my car either ran bad against the srt4 maybe something to do with the o2 sensors or the srt4 isnt stock. I just dont see how i could take him all 1st gear and most of second then get rolled on that damn hard.

 

sounds like you ran into a slightly modded SRT-4.

 

Well according to the teh guy its completely stock. At frist i thought it was my cam since i have a Impy cam which makes more power at lower rpms but drops off sooner, so i figured that why i was able to leave him behind at first and the he would roll on me because the power fells of sooner, But when i ran the LT1 i ran preaty much the same as he did. I figure i would get him at first like i did with the srt and then he would pass but he never gained on me.

You're running the stock Impy cam? With all the great cam choices available from Comp etc., why wouldn't you run aftermarket? Would be worth a good bit of power...

 

I asked him the same thing on another thread, his motor blew and thats what he ended up with. Hopefully he can get that thing to a track to see how it runs.

My belief is that srt-4 wasn't stock,,sounds like he had something a little extra, I know those things are pretty quick,,but to make up and pass you like that. Oh well, guess you'll never know.

That SRT4 probably had some slight mods. It's amazing what little mods do to a Turbo car. I just saw an almost stock one run a 13.8 at E-Town today.

 

The reasen the srt-4 passed you like that is b/c the srt-4 dosent use full boost in 1st gear, it comes like that from the factory so the car can actually have traction in 1st gear. Also with all turbo cars theres a little turbo lag. What year and mods where the Lt1 you raced?

 

Dude, unless your car is really sucking *** with that cam, no way was that srt-4 stock IMO.
