Body Paint Question? All you bodymen.

Can you wax a single stage? We sprayed a single stage paint on my car, never wet sanded it and now I want to wax it, is this ok >

Yes you can wax a single stage paint job. I would have it wet-sanded first though, and make sure the paint has cured before you wax it.

Yes it is okay to wax it. I agree with Cmr0z28 tho, definitly wet sand the car out with a real fine grit wet-paper, but dont rub to long in any single spot. Since you have a single stage paint job with no clear...you really dont want burn the paint or rub so hard that u just wear the paint away. Just enough to get a nice quick and smooth feel...then buff it out with a nice mild liquid compound ( Megwiars Diamond Cut 2.0 is a good compound for this ) and polish over it. Then your ready to put a good coat of wax on it

What they said. Wet sand, hit it up with some 3M fine grit compound and wax the crap out of it with a good carnuba, then apply a good sealant wax to top it off.

No no no! Other way around

Seal, then wax w/a pure wax 24 hours later
