ASR off light stays on

I just bought a 95 Z28 with ASR. The "ASR off" light stays on all the time and pushing the ASR button on the dash does nothing. I don't mind the ASR being turned off, but I'm just wondering what would caused it to stay on like that. There might be times (snow/rain) that I would like to turn it on. Has any seen this before or have any ideas what could cause this.

Thanks,
Jon

The switch could be shorted inside or the wiring could be shorted. Try unplugging the switch and see if it changes. If not look to the wiring.

Re: ASR off light stays on

I would check the switch first. I can't give real detailed instrustions because my car and manual don't have it. I have the circuit drawings and it shows a momentary switch. However, it could be a problem in the EBTCM (Brake Control Module) causing it to stay lit.
