the mustang belongs to my friend and it is an automatic with 30k miles and the only mod is a cai. we left from a 55mph roll and i told him to go first. i let him get about 2 cars on me then i went. in no time i had football fields between us. it was pretty fun because he thought he was unbeatable by a chevy of any kind.
izzyz28 07-21-2004, 02:31 PM Some people don't understand what horsepower is. Just because you have 4.10 gears and can light em up in first with 230 hp doesn't mean you're going to win any races. Hell, I thought my cammed Ford Probe was quick until I raced a real car. Good kill. :D

Nice kill. Football fields huh....a little exaggeration perhaps :)
maybe a little exageration, but it was far enough that it took a while for him to catch up after i let off. :D they are nice cars, just lacking in the power.
1BadAzzGT 07-21-2004, 05:54 PM Good kill on the Rustang. :D
BiGGinZ 07-21-2004, 07:02 PM Good kill, one thing I really do like about most year mustangs though is that when they have an exhaust they sound so sweet. I don't know howcome that is but I would have to give it to mustangs that they sound the best with just a cat-back. But since you have an LS1 try racing a newer Mach 1 he will give you a better race.
Steve Y 07-21-2004, 08:47 PM he thought he was unbeatable by a chevy of any kind.
The summer heat must be frying people's brains. How cocky, nieve, uninformed, and stupid he was. Yeah, i'm sure a Chevy of any kind (9 second old built Chevelle for example) would never beat a near stock GT. I can't believe people are really this dumb. Oh well, bet them and take their money from now on! :D
i know i cant out run every mustang out there (mach 1's, '03-'04 cobras) but i am still just stock. it will come. ;)
Black00SS 07-22-2004, 04:14 AM Still should be able to edge out an automatic mach 1, and maybe beat a manual by a **** hair, but its gonna be close, nice kill man.
CANTONRACER 07-22-2004, 07:55 AM Good spanking...

97bowtie 07-22-2004, 11:10 AM Sounds about right (except for the buslengths :P). Good kill.
CANTONRACER 07-22-2004, 11:18 AM Some pretty good running Mach 1's floating around...I know of a couple stock that were laying down 13.3's-13.5's@105-106 stock....most LS1 auto's I have seen run high 13's@101-103 around here.
jimdrechsler 07-22-2004, 12:59 PM just be careful of the 89-92 stangs. they seem to be the fastest around here. cheap to buy and cheap to fix up. can be very fast for little money! good kill though. What a dumbass for thinking that no chevy can beat him. please-

my cousin has a 87 mustang lx that runs 11.65 on a 200hp shot. its gutted and has a 10 pt cage. on street tires too though.
techie36 07-25-2004, 03:07 AM you can get 87-93 stangs very light, they'll have a great power/weight ratio once you start going with heads/cam/intake and full exhaust. I made the mistake of bottlenecking my 93 by doing ported gt-40 heads and no intake...ended up selling it before I could get around to it; I had a good 20rwhp+ just clogged up waiting for a good intake. The old 5.0's love FI also, very friendly to blowers, no2, and even turbos(except the 93-95's with the weaker hypo pistons). Anyway enough rambling, I'm buying an LT1 this time around, hopefully get it blown within a year or so. Good kill
NightWindDriftr 07-25-2004, 03:19 AM good race between rival cars! I just wish the driver didn't think so badly of Chevy. :)

He's probably jealous of Chevy and won't admit it. :)
lovescamaros25 07-25-2004, 11:06 PM i bet in a one mile race a ls1 would put a football field on a 4.6 gt.

Werd :D
Antz97ZNJ 07-27-2004, 09:05 PM He didnt stand a chance, good kill
Z28WannaB 07-28-2004, 12:30 PM WOW! My LT1 runs high 13s. So now I'm hanging with LS1s?
I think your specs might be incorrect.

CANTONRACER 07-28-2004, 12:32 PM Go to my website and just look around...you'll see a few...
And why would I lie about it?
i ran at the dragstrip one time bone stock on bald street tires and ran a 13.8x @102 and i was spinning through first and most of the way through second gear. i did race my cousins m6 2000 z28 and he beat me by a car the first run and i beat him by 2 the second run. with good tires i know the car will run a lot better even in stock form. the car has no idea what traction is.
