Ok, I want to go check out Atlantic City and Ocean city for a few days. My question is can you recommend good places to stay in Atlantic city thats not going to rape me?

Stick with any one of the casino hotels and you will be fine. There are other hotels all over anything decent is outside of AC.

To add to what Brian said, stay near the casino's while in ac... everywhere else can be frightening.. and don't drink too much in the casino's... people get robbed coming and going from them very often...
