suggestions, crank pulley bolt loosening:LS1 D1sc
well, same day as the car got dynoed, the balancer bolt comes loose. I torqued it and went 1/3 turn extra like the manual says. then I even marked the pulley w/paint so we could watch the bolt to make sure it didnt come loose. well, it came loose and tore up the belt. also I used loctite on it. are the blue bolts from ati one time use only like the orig. ? what can I do to keep the bolt tight? any ideas would be apprec.. and, I already searched on this, only found LT1 stuff. same idea though.

well thanks for the reply, but this is an ATI bolt, not the orig. gm bolt. thats why I didnt know if its reusable. some have said that the ATI one is not reusable either. we'll get a new one and loctite it in. see how that helps. also Ive heard that the new bolts are 3/8" shorter to make sure it doesnt tottome out in the crank.
The ATI bolt is a "torque to yield" like the stock unit. You should replace it.
Also if it is loosening, it is likely that the balancer is turning on the crank. The solution is to pin the balancer to the crank. They make a kit to locate & drill the crank/balancer so that you can insert a hardened dowel pin to prevent rotation.
