Just wondering why after my ford nine inch instal the parking brake light comes on as soon as i put it in gear and go...it turns off after i release it but comes on after I start to drive with it. I know it is realising so why is the light on?? This was installed in a 98 T/A M6 by the way.
thanks,
Rick

the ride is ok, I have a detroit locker in there so it took a little bit to get used to it....I also removed the plastic rings above the rear stock springs to compensate for the higher ride height for the nine inch, now it sits at the same level as before...it is definately a drag racers setup, I wouldn't consider taking this setup to auto cross....the 4.56's in it with the locker however do give me a sense of security when it comes to the upcoming racing season this fall when temps drop...I don't think it will be braking any time soon....

how did you make the torque arm work with the 9 inch?? is the rear end special made for your car so the torque arm will mount to it, or did you figure out something special.

Pic without mount on rearend (http://groups.msn.com/Zturbo/racecar.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=307)

I will take some pictures with the rearend in the car just havent taken any of that angle. Basically you mount a mount to the rear using some big ole bolts and some bosses. Works like a champ (mine is getting changed a little but nothing major.) :D

Thanks for the pics. Any other you would have would be great. The reason I ask is because some of the guys I work with think they can build me a rear end out of parts we have at work. I work at a used auto salvage yard. If they think they can do it for 500 bucks like they say they can. I want to let them try, but I couldnt figure out what to do about the torque arm. Now I have a idea;)

Call Moser up they can sell you the cast bracket for the torque arm that bolts to the rear using bosses (you can make them pretty easy.)

Your "BRAKE" warning light is multiple purpose... it comes on when you engage the parking brake, but it is also used to warn you of a problem in the braking system. It warns for example in a difference in pressure between the front and rear braking circuits. Might even show low fluid. Brake system needs to be inspected..... line crimped during 9-inch install, leak at caliper, etc.

There is limited info in the owners manual.
