My mind started wandering around today and I got to thinking about the rumors of a cam less vette motor. What do we know about this? I really don’t know anything. I sat around and thought for a long while, but i couldn’t figure out how they could do this. Its a great idea and would be a bad ass motor, think of the aftermarket! You could change you cam size with a computer. But anyway, does anyone have details about this or am I just dreaming?

From what I've heard it could be in the C6 by 2008. It would be around 500hp+ and 30mpg. I guess airplanes have been using it for many years and its pretty reliable.

I thought that Porsche was using solenoids instead of a cam on the Boxter for a while now. I could be wrong though.

That would be great if they could make it work reliably . Can you imagine if it broke? Ouch:alert:

I've been an aircraft mechanic for 22 years and have never seen a camless piston aircraft engine. Turbines are obviously a different story.
