Filter and oil of choice for '81

Hello all,

I have a whole lot of maintenance to do this weekend, one of which is the oil change.

What's the current oil filter and oil of choice now adays? I usually use a FRAM filter - but have heard many a time the quality of these has dropped substaintially.

If you could also provide a code of the filter to use (I think there is a bigger one than the one I used last oil change).

Thanks,
Grant

Fram sucks ***. Open a fram filter up and you will never use them again. Cardboard end caps. I use AC Delco filters. PF-35C is the larger one for a SBC I think. They also have a synthetic fibre filter as well which is very good (so I hear). It can be used with either dino oil or synth oil. For oil, if you are going synth go with either mobil one, or better Amsoil. For dino oil I can't say as I havent made up my mind yet. I dont know, I have never had oiling problems. I keep breaking engines before the bearings wear out so I am not overly concerned about oils. Maybe if I expected to have a engine last longer than a year I would care.
Beaters or performance engines dont wear out bearings.
Cheers.

Or use a fram filter like me and never have engine problems.
I agree the best in the delco/Mobile 1 combo.
