hauling tires
hauling tires
Does anyone here have a trailer hitch on their 4th gen? I'm seriously considering a tiretail (www.tiretail.com) for transporting my tres since I'm a ways off from the truck and trailer scenario and I don't have room in the apartment complex for a trailer.
Would it be too much to ask for someone to measure a few things for me? I'd like to send them the dimensions they need and tell me it'll work before I bolt my hitch onto the new car. You can get the dimensions they need at their website.
Thanks a million

The big concern I see is how much our tires and wheels weigh. Four heavy tires with that much leverage over the rear axle might make it sag some. You could probably get someone local to make a tire tail type device for much less than those guys charge.

Load the trailer correctly and you will hardly notice it there. I have a U-haul hitch and like it. It is nearly invisible from the rear with the bar removed.

A side story, last year a friend was driving my car while coming back from the Houston divisional. The car was loaded and we were pulling the tire trailer. This Mustang GT vert stays next to us for a while, so my friend asks if he can run him. I say sure. He rev's at the stang, who drops down and nails it. The T/A pulls on him pretty hard, while pulling a trailer, probably 3-4 car lengths from 70-120
