Stolen...insurance question

So my 2000 honda cbr929rr bike was stolen (la mesa area) a couple days ago. Is this covered under comprehensive? Also, I had chrome rims on it and aftermarket exhaust. I don't have receipts for these items but I have numerous pics that're dated oct. '03 which also show my liscense plate in them. Will insurance accept this as proof and give me credit for the wheels and exhaust? Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your cycle... I love bikes but the more lame "Torque" & "Bad Boyz" movies, the more wanna be punks are out there and they want your bike even though they can't ride.

Off my soapbox - I contacted my Insurance Company on Friday regarding renewal... one of my questions was proof of ownership. You will need photos AND receipts. Since you don't have receipts, perhaps you can get dated Credit Card Receipts or whom you purchased them from to write you a receipt.

Looks like I'll be getting my credit card statement that will show who I purchased the chrome rims from (it's only been 2 years and I can't even remember which place I ordered them through!) I'm just waiting to get screwed from insurance. Do they give NADA average retail value? I looked up the value and it shows low retail or average retail.

It doesn't look good. The insurance companies are very cheap plus they are have tough economic times too. You'll probably get the low value... they will get a cycle trader and find 3 of the lowest bikes then take the average. If you want to increase the price... take pics of 3 bikes and put in bogus prices... they will average those out.

well I did an autotrader search and found 4 bikes just like mine within 350 miles and if you average the 3 lowest then I won't get screwed too bad (just a couple hundred lower than I would like). They did say on the phone that I don't need receipts for the extras (pictures are enough) and they would take that into account...we'll see.
