Non-Posi to POSI

I just purchased a SLP Posi unit off their website and have a 91 V6 5-spd im going to be throwing an LT1 into. THe rear is a 3.42 28 spline 10 bolt, same as you fourth genners. What I need to know is exactly how hard is it to install the POSI? If possible please give as many details as you can, thanks.

You need to know how to install gears. You should not have to mess with the pinion gear but you will need to press bearings on the new posi and shim it to get the proper backlash. It is not too hard but unless you have somone to show you how I wouldn't try it.

If you just put it back together with the stock shims I don't think the backlash would be right, maybe someone else can say for sure. You don't want to end up with a rearend that whines.

I definatley want it done right, but shops around here are expensive, not to mention I don't trust any of them.
