t-56 rear main seal

hey all,
i'm new to this site, so pardon any etiquette oversights. i just purchased a black 99 z28 with the t-56 from a buddy. trouble is the rear main seal has been blown and rigged twice now. (i.e. we just threw in a new seal, peened the edges, and crossed our fingers) my tranny guy says chevy neglected to put a grounding
strap on it, to prevent the electrical charge at high speed from popping it out...anyway since it seems a little extreme to junk a perfectly good t-56 'cause of a damned seal, my bright idea is to rig it the same way, but use good ol' JB weld to secure it. good idea? any other ideas that don't involve me weeping softly as i hand over the $1500 are welcome.

Electrical charge popping it out?!?! Sounds like a load of garbage to me. I just had mine replaced under warranty though.

Find yourselve a new tranny guy. The rear seal does not conduct electricity and will not pop out due to a static charge. A seal might come out if the metal casing around the seal is damaged, or because the output shaft wobbles at high speed, or because the seal is damaged.

Hee, hee, hee, that's a new one!! This guy got any magnets laying around you could strap to the gas line. They'll align the gas molecules and give you better gas mileage. Or maybe one of those vortex intake thingies.

Brought to you by those fine folks at TOBEM.
