LT1 Radiator ?

Hey I'm doing a LT1 swap into my 87 T/A. Will my Radiator and 2 fan setup be able to keep the LT1 cool? or will I have to swap in a LT1 setup?

as far ss the cooling capibilities are concerned, they are the same rad., but the hoses are diff. sizes and thers an extra coolant hose in the LT1 rad. that the orig. one doesnt have. you should be able to find a good LT1 rad. for reasonably cheap. I just sold one for like $45 plus shiping. which was like $20. good luck. chris

LT-1's use a reverse flow cooling system, so you're going to have to get an LT-1 radiator.

It is true they are reverse cooled but others have used the stock radiator with success. I went ahead and spent the extra money for a new radiator for the LT1 though.

ive heard it was possible to use a triditional SBC radiator buy unless yours is brand new or somthing, I'd go get a LT-1 radiator.

Get an LT1 radiator...it makes things a lot easier...
