rear brake rotors

Does anyone have a problem with rear brake rotors fitting loosely on the wheel studs? Seems to me that there is too much play and I get a crunching or clicking type of noise sometimes when backing up and then when i first pull forward again. The rotors have almost 1/8 inch play when rotated from front to rear on the studs. I've already re-torqued the wheels to 120 ft pds instead of 100 and it hasn't seemed to help. The cars a 1990 Iroc-Z w/ the 350. Can anyone shed some light on this?

The noise you describe isn't from the rotor. It is u joints or excess backlash between the ring and pinion.

mine make a weird noise when backing up but most cars with rear discs do when the brakes are applied lightly. Does it only happen when the brakes are applied at a slow speed?

The car only has 3,000 miles on it. The noise occurs only when you initially back up some or initially go forward some and doesn't happen after that. The car was in storage, and the rear end fluid has been replaced with the proper limited slip fluid. Has anyone else noticed how loose the rotors fit on the rear studs, is this common for the car?

my rotors fit tight all around although they are the gm cross drilled and slotted upgrades though........even still my old stock ones weren't a problem either...
