It seems the nitto's are the most popular choice but any other good grip tires that are street legal?

Best drag radials? Are nitto and bfg the only ones?99blackz99 07-27-2003, 09:00 PM It seems the nitto's are the most popular choice but any other good grip tires that are street legal? SSpdDmon 07-27-2003, 09:42 PM I think Yokohama has some good ones too. A friend of mine w/ a 12 second M6 said he had a pair and they hooked like a raped ape. dis3as3d 07-27-2003, 11:01 PM BFG drag radials are better than nittos because they have more sidewall to flex. 96LT14u2Nv 07-28-2003, 12:47 AM BFG's are better at the track but toss around too much debris on the street IMO chuck 07-30-2003, 07:02 PM Yokohama does not make a drag radial; they make a road race tire (A032R Advan) that some use as a drag radial. It does not work as well as the Nitto 555R at the strip. Having owned both BFG and Nitto DR's (and a host of R compounds), I will say that it is true that the BFG will hook better at the track, but they suck horribly on the street. I only got 2,200 miles out of the BFG's, and consistantly get 9-11K miles from Nitto DR's. The Nitto's are also much better than the BFG in the rain and in corners. Of course once all the tread is gone all bets are off with ANY tire. If you are going to drive them on the street, I think the Nitto is the only choice. SSpdDmon 07-30-2003, 07:50 PM My bad on the Yokohamas. This is what my friend had. They're not drag radials, but he said they hooked hard. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=AVS+ES100&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=74WR7ES100&fromCompare1=yes | ||
