Hi. I have an Chevy blazer (fullsize) that I put a 350 TPI and 700r4 in. The motor and transmission came from an 89 trans am. The motor runs great, and for normal driving, it shifts great. The problem is it doesn't have any guts when I stomp the pedal. The motor picks up fast in park or neutral, but in gear, it won't turn more than 2500-3000 rpms.. Any ideas what this could be? Could it be my TV cable? The truck was a 6.2 diesel before. I still have the diesel exhaust with 2 cats on it. Could the exhaust be choking the motor?

It could be TV cable. Will not only cause early shifts if out of adjustment, but the line pressure will be too low and will slip, eventually burning out the clutches.
Give adjustment a crack and see if it helps:

Partially clogged exhaust is a definite possibility. Unbolt the exhaust from the manifolds and see how it revs. If that frees it up, then you have an exhaust restriction.

The governor in the trans could cause the early shift problem also. I have to shift my trans myself at WOT to keep it from shifting to early. Normal driving it shift fine just at WOT it shifts to early. I would try shifting the trans yourself first and see if it does any better. If not then adjust the TV cable. If it still does it then it has to be the exhaust.
