Tire spin, but no noise/smoke?

Hi guys-Here's the deal. When I get on it (6spd), I can hear the tires spinning, and the revs soar, but there's never any screech or smoke... What gives? Am I loosing power somewhere? Would a bad opti have anything to do this, cause sometimes after it rains, its hard to start...Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks fellows.

Tires? If they are spinning but not smoking or making noise, they could just be really worn. If they are close to slick, they'll do that...

I had some futuras that were such a hard compound you really had to spin them a lot to get smoke, they sucked too, and got no traction .

different tires make different sounds. My Kumhos would just smoke on ashpalt but on concrete it would scream.

BFG G-Force T/A tires scream on all hard surfaces.

worn tires, old dry tires and dusty roads will all cause that.

It could be because you have really hard tires like 500's. Thats really weird that theres no smoke. Does it leave a mark on the ground after they were spinning?

Are you sure your seeing black marks? If your tires aren't spinning (leaving a trail) then your burning your clutch.

The tires are Z-rated COMP TA's with considerable tread life left. I know that I'm not burning the clutch, because its just when I'm putt-putting around, and mash the gas...anything else?

My Comp TA's were the same way, its nothing to worry about.

Kinda funny that you blame the tires not smoking/making noise on the opti...people seem to blame everything that goes wrong with these cars on the opti.

what next? My window has a crack in it....is it my opti?

At least I'm not the only one...now I know why the Futura's wouldn't smoke but I can't even get a nice cloud out of my Nitto DRs while I watch others smoke the snot out of them where I was just sitting. Is there a specific RPM that seems to generate smoke better. I feel like I prolly take it up pretty high in the burnout box as far as RPMs go. Does high rpm=less smoke?

As soon as I get the line lock hooked up I'm going to be smoking enough for everyone as I've been jonesin for the last 2 years. Hopefully that will do the trick.
