how big of a shot can i go?WHITE91ZCAR 04-13-2003, 12:29 PM Hello im just wondering how much of a shot can i run with a fogger system. The interals of the motor are stock its a 91 5.7 with the basics new msd coil 8.8 wires and flowmaster exaust any help would be appreciated kandied91z 04-13-2003, 07:33 PM do you have headers or just the cat back muffler setup? what do you have for air induction? what do you have for a fuel system? what do you have for the computer setup? is your ignition in perfect order? these are just a few of the many things that are really important and can make a difference. but with just what your stating i'd say probably around 200 unless you get bigger solenoids. ;) on a serious note, read up as much as you can and understand your system and how it works. every engines different but obviously if your car is making around 200 horses at the wheels you wouldn't want to use a 200 shot. i wouldn't go more then 50% on any vehicle let alone a stock one. people do it though. some get lucky and others have to pay. i'd start out safely with the smallest setting or around 75 and work my way up. again every car is different and you have to make sure you have proper fuel supply and a great working ignition. otherwise you had better have alot of money for that nice rebuild. even still you will see wear as the engine isn't really meant for it and you'll have to watch when you activate as you'll tear up your rearend if your doing it from hard stops and you'll tear through that automatic real quick if your doing it from dead stops and through the shifts as well. AutoRoc 04-14-2003, 12:37 AM Yeah I would start with a 100HP shot with all of the safety items including a Fuel pressure safety switch and maybe a full throttle switch. Which Fogger setup are you thinking about? Jeff..I got some dyno numbers:D hahaha kandied91z 04-14-2003, 03:24 AM damn you denny...............!! wish i could have been there, unfortunately i wasn't able too. if they are anything close to what i heard congrats. very nice. i can't wait to line them up in the summer! :) irocz8957 04-14-2003, 11:53 AM i probably would go more than a 75 shot if all the internals are stock! kandied91z 04-14-2003, 02:39 PM irocz8957, what size shot are you running? Chuck! 04-14-2003, 03:47 PM Denny, whatd the 305 put down? 1989gta 04-14-2003, 07:41 PM my advice to you is take out some timing and if your nervous add some race gas. I've known guys to run a 200 shot on a stock bottom end. Start small 75 and work your way up. But remeber any power adder can have problems. WHITE91ZCAR 04-15-2003, 10:24 PM i have a gutted airbox with k&n filters and no cats. Well thanks for all the help guys mrr23 04-15-2003, 10:53 PM i'm at 120 right now. cast pistons, stock bottom. have used 150, but the fuel pump can't keep up. i take out 2* when using the n20 kandied91z 04-16-2003, 02:44 AM definately recommend staying around 75 then until you upgrade the needed accessories. sure you can buy in for under 600 for the kit; but all the safety pieces and upgrades will run you well into the thousands to do it safely. if you can afford a build up then go for it........ aziroc 04-16-2003, 05:14 AM if u dont have **** done.. jsut do 50 and upgrade the other stuff and once u have done some decent stuff H/I/C/E then go to 75.. maybe 100.. then u will want to make sure u have forged internals and .. oh yea.. do a tune up and make sure u run the correct spark plugs or BOOM!! | ||
