What are the usual prices for these heads??
And where are you guys getting them from?? I have heard great things about them, which is why Im going to use them on a zz4. Any recommendations on a cam while your at it?

Off the top of my head, around $1400
You can get them rigth from AFR www.airflowresearch.com
Also might want to look in the group purchases section of this site. They often have an AFR group purchase and save a small amount of money

Jeff, I didn't know enough to buy them
This guy above me however has personal experience himself so he owns this thread. haha
Cam reccomendation? Depends on what you want to do with the car/engine, etc. I would call AFR and Comp Cams and ask around. Just let them know your combination and goals. It would be interesting to see what kind of power the ZZ4 cam would make with those heads and cubic inches. If you get the compression ratio equal to that of a normal ZZ4 engine(355hp), the AFR heads alone would put you at or over 400HP. I think 25-50 more can be found with a bigger cam and still be tame enough for street duty. Even more with an even more aggressive cam with more compression but that's a whole different story. Goodluck. Let us know what cam you decide on or what those companies reccomend.

I think the 190 are a few bucks cheaper and flow almost the same. From what I understand the top of the port is a little larger is the only difference.
For heads like that you are going to need to replace the ported TPI and go with a Stealth Ram, SuperRam or Mini Ram, I installed some high flow head and cam and the TPI would not keep up. After I install the SuperRam it woke the engine up. I would do them both if it was me. I would like a set of the 210 myself with the hydrarev kit.
I run the LPE 219/525 cam myself and the engine pulls to 6000RPMs. If I had it to do over I would go with a 224/535 at 114. If you are going to run the TPI I would go with 219/495 at 114. I have seen a few combo with that and running high 12.6 to 12.9 with the AFR heads and more mods..

There is no doubt Ill be buying the stealth ram for this combo, and I can get a good deal on a partial zz4...which I guess is just called a partial zz motor and the zz4 cam would be ideal. From what I hear this should be a good combo with the 195s....but the dyno will tell.
The only difference between a 190 and a 195 is the exhaust ports. They are 190 onan AFR 190 and 195 on an AFR 195, obviously.
Really dont see a point in getting the 195`s.
I have 190`s and im going high 10`s on spray and low 12`s on motor with them....with a super ram intake.
I really would make cam selection the last thing you do. Once you know everything you ARE going to have, call comp cams, lunati, crane or whoever and get their recommendation. Definately the BEST way to go and dont be afraid to get a custom grind, they are only like $5 more or some small fee like that.
A stealth ram intake will make a bit more HP than my superram but less TQ.
My setup is
.030 350 (355)
.525/.525 224/236 comp cams roller cam & lifters
Wasted valve springs, lol
AFR 190, some port work.
SuperRam Upper & Lower intake and runners, some port work.
Edelbrock T.E.S. headers, y-pipe, single 3" exhaust.
Engine made 296 HP and 410 TQ at rear tires on motor
Engine made 445 HP and 675+ TQ at rear tires on spray
Best N/A E.T. 12.62 (should go around 12.40 now, 700r4`s suck)
Best N.O.S. E.T. 11.06 (should go 10.70`s now, wrong tire size)
Full interior street car daily driver 3rd Gen
If I changed to a stealth ram, my guess would be my car would increase from 296 HP at the tires to somewhere around 340 maybe....and id figure TQ to drop coniderably to near about the same, 340 or 350
I might pick up a tenth or 2, dont know, but the SuperRam is way more fun on the street.

I guess ill have to see what gains the 190s would have over the 195s and what the price difference is. Havent gotten many replies as far as price differences. And yes, I totally agree with the cam being a custom gring to match the combo.
Your not really going to gain anything from a 190 to a 195.
Prices from AFR are
190cc Street Heads, Angle Plug, 68cc $1250
195cc Street Heads, Angle Plug, 68cc $1250
There are no differences in the flow numbers above .300 and below that is insignificant.
That is THE head to use on a street car like you want to build.
If you want a GO FAST head at a cheap price
210cc Racing Head, Angle Plug, Standard Exhaust $1450
But if your looking intoa ZZ4 type cam, thats not the head for you. Unless you want my 190cc ported heads. You buy those and ill give you my heads and some cash. Just an offer, dont expect you to take it
